What a wonderful international collaboration! Irene Klar works with a group in Kashmir, in the northwest of India, high in the Himalaya Mountains. Irene has designed a selection of cushion covers. She selects the wools for their embroidery. The yarn is 100% wool and the dyes are colorfast. Stencils and material is distributed to farmers as part of a cottage craft industry. During the summer and the winter, when their crops do not require much attention, the farmers can do embroidery in their homes. The cushion Covers are hand embroidered on heavy gauge cotton. Each piece is individually done and is based on an Irene Klar design.  They measure 18×18? and can be stuffed with a standard insert or with a 20 x 20” feather insert. Some people have displayed them as small wall hangings. Whether placed on a sofa, bed, or on the wall, they will make a wonderful and colorful addition to your decor.
